Local Company is Scheme's First Occupier at Markham Vale
The first speculative accommodation project completed at the Markham Vale commercial park, off junction 29A of the M1, is about to welcome its first occupier, a local firm.
IIntervene Ltd, a manufacturer and supplier of medical equipment, will relocate from Sheffield to a 5,000 sq. ft unit at Waterloo Court, a development of terraced units comprising over 51,500 sq ft of floorspace, with units ranging between 3,000 sq. ft and 15,000 sq. ft. Intervene has purchased the freehold of the new premises.
Ben Ward, development surveyor at Henry Boot Developments comments: “We’re delighted to be welcoming a local company to Markham Vale. Catering for the requirements of expanding companies in Chesterfield, South Yorkshire, and the surrounding areas is part of our strategy, and Waterloo Court has been created with them in mind.
“Waterloo Court offers high quality units that incorporate a range of energy saving facilities that mean it has been awarded a B rating in energy performance, along with secure yards and ample parking. The fact that it’s located on one of the UK’s premier commercial parks gives it an added dimension. Accommodation here is available to buy or lease, or occupiers can take advantage of our unique Try before you Buy initiative, where a property can be rented for a period before being bought. We’re receiving lots of positive enquires, and will be making further announcements regarding new occupiers in the next few weeks.”
Managing director of Intervene, Matt Root adds: “We were growing out of our accommodation and needed somewhere offering easy access to the M1 motorway, so Markham Vale is ideal. We were also impressed with the unit’s energy saving features such as photovoltaic panels which come at no extra cost, and which will enable us to minimise our running costs quite significantly.”
Markham Vale will be one of the greenest commercial parks in the country when it is completed. The 200-acre scheme is being marketed at international, national and local companies, and has secured planning for a 585,500 sq. ft distribution/warehouse unit, known as the Green Giant, as well as a neighbouring 105,000 sq. ft unit. In addition, a significant area of the scheme will accommodate design and build premises, with local company, Industrial Ancillaries the first to occupy a building constructed to their requirements in December last year.
