Meeting Waterloo at Markham Vale
Expanding Local Companies will Benefit from Initial Phase of Accommodation
The first phase of development at the 200-acre Markham Vale business park on junction 29A of the M1, near Chesterfield, is progressing well, with steel work now completed on Waterloo Court, development specifically designed to accommodate small and medium sized companies who are seeking to relocate and expand their business.
The office and industrial accommodation is on programme to be completed in March 2009, and will provide a total of 51,500 sq.ft of floorspace, with units ranging in size from 3,000 sq. ft to 15,000 sq. ft.
Waterloo Court has been designed by The Harris Partnership, and will boast a series of high quality terraced units that feature distinctive cladding in order to emphasise the individual entrances and to distinguish the development’s separate service areas. Full height glazing and the use of different colours lends an aesthetic and distinctive appeal, while the inclusion of solar photovoltaic panels will help occupiers reduce their use of electricity usage.
Development Surveyor of Henry Boot Developments, Ben Ward, who is responsible for overseeing the Waterloo Court project comments: “We are providing high quality, flexible accommodation here that is just a stone’s throw from the new M1 motorway junction, 29A. Chesterfield and the surrounding area is very under-served with this calibre of attractive flexible premises that are ideal for expanding local companies. The fact that the units are available to buy or rent makes relocating here very appealing.”
Tom Dickens of King Sturge, the appointed agents on the scheme adds: “We have already agreed terms with an occupier who will take occupation on completion of the units, and we will be making further announcements in the next few weeks regarding further occupiers. Enquiries remain very strong – now that companies can see the progress being made, they are coming in from a cross section of the business community, from local and national operators.”
